RESPECT is an AI-native child online safety tool designed to help families respond to online harm more proactively.
Unlike traditional parental control apps that mainly focus on screen time or blocking access, RESPECT is designed to provide a more intelligent and supportive layer of protection. This pilot study will help us improve the product and understand how it can better support children and parents in everyday digital life.

By applying to take part in the RESPECT pilot study, you acknowledge and agree to the following.
Participation is open to parents or legal guardians of children aged over 11 who live in the UK or Northern Ireland.
To take part, the child’s smartphone must be an Android device , while the parent or guardian's smartphone may be an iOS or Android device.
The pilot study lasts for 1 month. Participants are expected to remain in the study for the full pilot period unless they choose to withdraw earlier.
Participants will be asked to complete one short survey at the start of the pilot and one short survey at the end of the pilot. These surveys are part of the study and are important for evaluating user experience and improving the product.
Participant families will receive free access to RESPECT for one year, starting with the pilot study.
Submitting an expression of interest does not guarantee participation. Places may be limited, and families may be selected based on eligibility and study capacity.
Participation is voluntary. Families may withdraw from the study at any time, subject to any onboarding or withdrawal instructions provided to selected participants.
Because this is a pilot study, some app features may be updated, adjusted, or refined during the study period.
If selected, participants will receive further information about data handling, privacy, and study procedures before taking part.

Yes. The pilot requires the app to be used on both the parent's and the child's smartphones.
Yes. Participants will complete two short surveys: one at the start and one at the end of the pilot.
No. Registering interest does not automatically guarantee participation.
